7 impossible things
- I want a tattoo. I want it to encompass the Tao enso as well as a quote from Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. I'm thinking of getting an enso made of the words "7 impossible things". Read:
“Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast” is a reference to Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass. In chapter V: “Wool and Water,” Alice meets the White Queen, who informs Alice that her age is

2. Oddly enough it occurred to me today as I sat, bored, in class that I have a very curious intellect. One, I have great grasp on linguistics, both in usage and comprehension. It makes for reading and listening to be very simple as much of what we say is repetitive. So, then, I hear initial ideas and then zone out a bit. That is until I hear something that is different. It is very rare for something to hold my attention, or for my to read every word in a book. Never, ever was I one for details. And yet despite the ability to comprehend I am not sure I explain things very well. I much prefer that nothing make sense but we accept it anyway.
3. Oprah vs. Barack...one has lots of informal authority and influence the other has formal authority and is limited in action, which would you prefer? I'd take Oprah any day of the week. Are true visionaries drawn to positions of power, or do they find themselves there quite by accident?
4. I sang Black and Gold all weekend. Katy Perry's version. And if you're not really here, then the stars don't really matter. Sometimes I wonder if I was wiser in my youth, even with all my ignorance and hurt.
5. I really do just want to marry my best friend.
6. If we admire in others what we admire in ourselves (but likely do not acknowledge) then the thing I most secretly love about myself is the way I see things. And not only that, my ability to articulate that with conviction. That is the thing I love most about others. That and a genuinely happy demeanor. And good shoes.
7. ...and for the seventh, I'm increasingly more convinced that I need to live alone. Not that my roommate does anything at all to annoy me, but I've noticed I rarely feel comfortable at home. At this stage in my life, I'm not shy about voicing my needs.
